Shield Bug
The shield bug, also known as a stink bug, is an insect belonging to the family Pentatomidae. These bugs are characterized by their shield-shaped bodies and can vary in color, often appearing in shades of green, brown, or gray. They are commonly found in gardens and agricultural fields, where they feed on plant sap.
Shield bugs are known for their distinctive odor, which they release as a defense mechanism when threatened. They play a role in the ecosystem by helping to control pest populations, but they can also become pests themselves when they invade homes, especially during colder months.
