Shelfari
Shelfari was a social networking website focused on books and reading. Launched in 2006, it allowed users to create virtual bookshelves, catalog their personal libraries, and share book recommendations with friends. Users could also join groups, participate in discussions, and rate books, fostering a community of book lovers.
In 2014, Shelfari was integrated into Amazon, which had acquired the platform in 2008. The integration led to the discontinuation of the standalone site, with its features being merged into Goodreads, another popular book-related platform owned by Amazon. This transition aimed to streamline the user experience for readers.
