Servite Order
The Servite Order, officially known as the Order of the Servants of Mary, is a Roman Catholic religious order founded in 1233 in Florence, Italy. The order was established by a group of seven men who sought to live a life of prayer and service, particularly in devotion to the Virgin Mary, known as the Servites. Their mission includes promoting the spiritual and social welfare of the community.
Members of the Servite Order take vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and they engage in various ministries, including education, healthcare, and pastoral care. The order is recognized for its commitment to the Seven Sorrows of Mary, which reflects their deep devotion to her suffering and compassion. Today, the Servite Order has communities around the world, continuing its mission of service and devotion.
