Serra da Capivara National Park
Serra da Capivara National Park is located in the northeastern region of Brazil, specifically in the state of Piauí. Established in 1979, it covers an area of approximately 1,500 square kilometers. The park is renowned for its stunning landscapes, featuring unique rock formations, canyons, and a rich diversity of flora and fauna.
The park is also famous for its archaeological significance, housing some of the oldest rock art in the Americas, with over 1,000 prehistoric sites. These ancient paintings provide valuable insights into the lives of early human inhabitants, making Serra da Capivara a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
