Serena Auñón-Chancellor
Serena Auñón-Chancellor is an American physician and NASA astronaut. She was born on April 9, 1976, in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Auñón-Chancellor earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch and completed her residency in internal medicine. She was selected as a NASA astronaut in 2009.
In 2018, Auñón-Chancellor flew to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Expedition 56/57 mission. During her time on the ISS, she conducted various scientific experiments and contributed to the ongoing research in space medicine. Her work helps improve our understanding of human health in space.
