Sercquiais
Sercquiais is a Norman language spoken primarily on the island of Sercq, one of the Channel Islands. It is part of the Oïl language group, which includes other regional languages like Jèrriais and Guernésiais. Sercquiais has its own unique vocabulary and grammar, influenced by both Old Norse and French.
The language has seen a decline in speakers over the years, with efforts being made to preserve and promote it. Local initiatives, including educational programs and cultural events, aim to keep Sercquiais alive among younger generations, ensuring its heritage remains a part of the island's identity.
