Sekihotai
The Sekihotai was a group of young samurai and farmers who fought during the late Edo period in Japan. Formed in 1868, they were part of the Boshin War, which was a civil war between the ruling Tokugawa shogunate and forces seeking to restore imperial rule. The Sekihotai aimed to protect their homeland and support the Meiji Restoration.
The group was known for its idealism and commitment to the cause, but they faced significant challenges. Ultimately, the Sekihotai was defeated in battle, and many of its members were killed or captured. Their legacy remains a symbol of youthful bravery and dedication in Japanese history.
