Segura River Basin
The Segura River Basin is located in southeastern Spain, primarily within the Murcia region. It covers an area of approximately 18,000 square kilometers and is characterized by a semi-arid climate. The basin is home to the Segura River, which flows for about 325 kilometers before emptying into the Mediterranean Sea.
The basin supports various agricultural activities, including the cultivation of fruits and vegetables, thanks to irrigation systems that manage its limited water resources. Additionally, the region is known for its diverse ecosystems, which include wetlands and mountainous areas, providing habitats for various plant and animal species.
