Seder Plate
The Seder Plate is a special dish used during the Jewish holiday of Passover. It holds symbolic foods that represent different aspects of the Exodus story, when the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt. Each item on the plate has a specific meaning, helping participants remember the significance of the holiday.
Typically, the Seder Plate includes six items: maror (bitter herbs), charoset (a sweet mixture), karpas (a vegetable), z'roa (a shank bone), beitzah (a roasted egg), and chazeret (another type of bitter herb). These foods are discussed during the Seder meal, which is a ritual gathering that includes prayers, songs, and storytelling.
