Second Intifadas
The Second Intifada, also known as the Al-Aqsa Intifada, was a Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation that began in September 2000 and lasted until around 2005. Triggered by a visit from Israeli politician Ariel Sharon to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, the uprising involved widespread protests, violence, and clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces.
The conflict resulted in significant casualties on both sides and led to increased tensions in the region. The Palestinian Authority and various militant groups were involved, and the uprising highlighted the ongoing struggle for Palestinian statehood and rights, further complicating the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
