Sebastian Cabot
Sebastian Cabot was an Italian explorer and navigator born around 1474. He is best known for his voyages to the New World under the English flag. Cabot was the son of the famous explorer John Cabot, and he played a significant role in early exploration of North America, particularly in the search for a northwest passage to Asia.
In 1512, Cabot was appointed as the governor of Newfoundland and later led expeditions to the Rio de la Plata in South America. His explorations contributed to European knowledge of the Americas, although he faced challenges and setbacks during his career. Cabot's legacy is tied to the early age of exploration in the 16th century.
