Sea Wolf class
The Sea Wolf class is a series of nuclear-powered fast attack submarines used by the United States Navy. Designed for anti-submarine warfare, these submarines are known for their advanced stealth capabilities and sophisticated technology. The class was developed to counter the threat posed by Soviet submarines during the Cold War.
The first submarine of the Sea Wolf class, the USS Sea Wolf (SSN-21), was commissioned in 1997. A total of three submarines were built, with the last one, the USS Jimmy Carter (SSN-23), entering service in 2005. These submarines are equipped with advanced sonar systems and can carry a variety of weapons, including torpedoes and cruise missiles.
