Sea Waves
Sea waves are created by the wind as it blows across the surface of the ocean. The energy from the wind transfers to the water, forming ripples that can grow into larger waves. Factors such as wind speed, duration, and the distance over which the wind blows (called fetch) influence the size and strength of the waves.
As waves approach the shore, they interact with the ocean floor, causing them to slow down and rise. This process can create different types of waves, such as surf waves, which are popular for activities like surfing. Understanding sea waves is essential for navigation, coastal management, and recreational activities.
