Scottish Rite
The Scottish Rite is a branch of the Freemasonry organization, which is a fraternal society that promotes moral and ethical development. It offers additional degrees beyond the basic three degrees of Blue Lodge Masonry, focusing on philosophical teachings and the pursuit of knowledge. Members often engage in community service and charitable activities.
Founded in the 18th century, the Scottish Rite is known for its elaborate rituals and ceremonies. It is divided into two main jurisdictions in the United States: the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction and the Southern Jurisdiction. Each jurisdiction has its own unique structure and degree programs.
