Scopas
Scopas was an ancient Greek sculptor and architect, active during the 4th century BCE. He is best known for his expressive and dynamic sculptures, which often depicted mythological and emotional themes. His work contributed significantly to the development of Hellenistic art, emphasizing realism and dramatic poses.
One of Scopas's most famous works is the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, a monumental tomb built for Mausolus, a Persian satrap. This structure was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and showcased Scopas's talent in combining architecture and sculpture, influencing future generations of artists and architects.
