Schlangen
Schlangen, or snakes, are elongated, legless reptiles belonging to the suborder Serpentes. They are found in a variety of habitats, including forests, deserts, and oceans. Snakes are known for their unique method of locomotion, using their muscles and scales to slither across surfaces. They are carnivorous and primarily feed on small animals, such as rodents, birds, and insects.
There are over 3,000 species of snakes worldwide, ranging from the tiny bee eater to the massive anaconda. Most snakes are non-venomous, but some, like the cobras and vipers, possess venom that they use to subdue prey. Snakes play a crucial role in their ecosystems by controlling pest populations and serving as prey for larger animals.
