Scanian War
The Scanian War (1675-1679) was a conflict between the Kingdom of Sweden and a coalition of Denmark-Norway, Poland-Lithuania, and the Holy Roman Empire. It was part of a larger struggle for power in Northern Europe, with Denmark seeking to regain territories lost to Sweden in previous wars. The war was marked by several battles and sieges, particularly in the region of Scania, which is now part of southern Sweden.
The war ended with the Treaty of Lund in 1679, which restored the status quo and confirmed Swedish control over Scania. Although the conflict did not result in significant territorial changes, it highlighted the ongoing rivalry between Sweden and Denmark, setting the stage for future conflicts in the region.
