Scala Vestibuli
The Scala Vestibuli is one of the three fluid-filled chambers in the cochlea of the inner ear. It is located above the Scala Media and is filled with a fluid called perilymph. This chamber plays a crucial role in the process of hearing by transmitting sound waves from the oval window to the Scala Tympani.
Sound vibrations enter the cochlea through the oval window, creating pressure waves in the perilymph of the Scala Vestibuli. These waves then travel through the cochlea, stimulating hair cells in the Organ of Corti located in the Scala Media, ultimately leading to the perception of sound.
