Saves
A "save" in sports refers to a statistic that measures a player's ability to prevent the opposing team from scoring. This term is most commonly associated with goalkeepers in soccer and hockey, as well as pitchers in baseball. A save is credited when a player successfully stops a shot or play that would have likely resulted in a goal or run.
In video games, particularly in role-playing games (RPGs), a "save" refers to the process of storing a player's progress. This allows players to return to the game at a later time without losing their achievements. Saves can be manual, where players choose when to save, or automatic, where the game saves progress at certain points.
