Saturation Point
A saturation point refers to the stage at which a substance can no longer absorb or dissolve additional quantities of another substance. For example, in a solution, when the maximum amount of solute, like salt, has been added to a solvent, such as water, the solution is said to have reached its saturation point. Any further addition of solute will not dissolve and will remain as solid particles.
In various contexts, saturation points can also apply to markets or ecosystems. In a market, for instance, a saturation point occurs when the demand for a product, like smartphones, has been fully met, leading to a decline in sales growth. Understanding saturation points is crucial for effective planning and resource management.
