Santuario de Meritxell
The Santuario de Meritxell is a prominent religious site located in the Andorran parish of Canillo. It serves as the sanctuary dedicated to the patron saint of Andorra, Our Lady of Meritxell. The original church was built in the 18th century, but it was destroyed by fire in 1972 and later reconstructed.
The new sanctuary, completed in 1976, features modern architecture designed by the architect Rafael Masó. It includes a striking façade and a beautiful interior that attracts both pilgrims and tourists. The site is an important cultural and spiritual symbol for the people of Andorra.
