Santali Language
The Santali language is a member of the Austroasiatic language family, primarily spoken by the Santal people in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan. It is one of the official languages of the Indian state of Jharkhand and is recognized in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. Santali has its own script called Ol Chiki, developed by the Santal leader Pandit Raghunath Murmu in the 1920s.
Santali is rich in oral traditions, folklore, and songs, reflecting the culture and history of the Santal community. The language has a unique grammatical structure and vocabulary, which distinguishes it from other regional languages. Efforts are ongoing to promote and preserve Santali through education and literature, ensuring its continued use among younger generations.
