San Roque Dam
The San Roque Dam is a large embankment dam located on the Agno River in the province of Pangasinan, Philippines. Completed in 2003, it is one of the largest dams in the country, designed primarily for hydroelectric power generation, irrigation, and flood control. The dam has a reservoir that can store significant amounts of water, helping to manage water supply for nearby communities.
In addition to its primary functions, the San Roque Dam also plays a role in supporting local agriculture by providing irrigation to surrounding farmlands. The dam's hydroelectric power plant contributes to the energy needs of the region, making it an essential infrastructure project for both economic development and environmental management.
