San Martín Tuxtla Volcano
The San Martín Tuxtla Volcano is an extinct stratovolcano located in the Tuxtla Mountains of Veracruz, Mexico. It rises to an elevation of about 1,800 meters (5,906 feet) and is part of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt. The volcano last erupted around 3,000 years ago, and its summit features a crater that is approximately 1.5 kilometers wide.
Surrounding the volcano is a rich biodiversity, including various species of flora and fauna. The area is also home to several small communities that rely on agriculture and tourism.
