San Jacinto Mountains
The San Jacinto Mountains are a mountain range located in Southern California, primarily within Riverside County. They are part of the larger Peninsular Ranges and rise sharply from the surrounding desert floor, reaching an elevation of 10,834 feet at their highest peak, San Jacinto Peak. The mountains are known for their diverse ecosystems, which include pine forests, alpine meadows, and desert landscapes.
The range is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and rock climbing. The San Jacinto State Park offers numerous trails, including the well-known Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, which provides access to higher elevations and stunning views of the surrounding area.
