San Gennaro
San Gennaro is the patron saint of Naples, Italy, celebrated for his life and martyrdom in the 4th century. His feast day, known as the Feast of San Gennaro, occurs on September 19th each year. During this event, a vial of his blood, believed to liquefy miraculously, is displayed, symbolizing his protection over the city.
The San Gennaro festival is also celebrated in various locations, particularly in the United States, where large Italian-American communities honor their heritage. One of the most famous celebrations takes place in New York City’s Little Italy, featuring parades, food stalls, and religious ceremonies, attracting thousands of visitors.
