Salim Ali
Salim Ali was an influential Indian ornithologist, often referred to as the "Birdman of India." Born on November 12, 1896, he dedicated his life to the study of birds and their habitats. His extensive research and fieldwork contributed significantly to the understanding of avian species in India, and he played a crucial role in promoting bird conservation.
Throughout his career, Salim Ali authored several books, including the well-known The Book of Indian Birds. He was instrumental in establishing the Bombay Natural History Society and was awarded the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan for his contributions to science and wildlife conservation.
