Saint Winefride
Saint Winefride, also known as Saint Winifred, is a Christian martyr from the 7th century, celebrated primarily in Wales. She is known for her piety and dedication to God, and her story is closely associated with the Holy Well of Saint Winefride in Holywell, Flintshire, which is believed to have healing properties.
According to legend, Winefride was pursued by a nobleman named Caradoc, who attempted to assault her. In her defense, she was miraculously beheaded, but her life was restored by Saint Beuno, her uncle. Her feast day is celebrated on October 3rd, and she is regarded as the patron saint of sick people and healers.
