Saint Walburga
Saint Walburga was an English nun and abbess who lived during the 8th century. She is best known for her missionary work in what is now Germany, where she helped spread Christianity. Born in Wessex, England, she was the daughter of Saint Richard and the sister of Saint Boniface, a prominent missionary.
Walburga is celebrated for her piety and dedication to her faith. After moving to Germany, she founded a monastery in Heidenheim and became its first abbess. Her feast day is observed on February 25, and she is often invoked for protection against diseases and pests.
