Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus
Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus, also known as Thérèse of Lisieux, was a French nun born on January 2, 1873. She is best known for her simple yet profound approach to spirituality, emphasizing love and trust in God. Thérèse entered the Carmelite Order at a young age and lived a life of prayer and devotion until her death from tuberculosis at the age of 24.
Thérèse is often referred to as "The Little Flower" due to her belief in doing small acts of kindness with great love. She was canonized as a saint by Pope Pius XI in 1925 and declared a Doctor of the Church in 1997, making her one of the few women to receive this honor.
