Saint Rita
Saint Rita of Cascia, born in 1381 in Italy, is known as the patron saint of impossible causes. She was a wife and mother who faced many hardships, including the violent death of her husband. After his death, she entered a convent and dedicated her life to prayer and service, becoming a nun in the Augustinian order.
Rita is often depicted with a thorn in her forehead, symbolizing her deep suffering and connection to the passion of Jesus Christ. Her feast day is celebrated on May 22, and she is venerated in many Christian traditions for her compassion and unwavering faith.
