Saint Monica
Saint Monica was a Christian saint known for her unwavering faith and dedication to her family. Born in 331 AD in Tagaste, North Africa, she was married to a pagan man named Patricius, with whom she had three children, including Saint Augustine. Despite her husband's difficult temperament, Monica remained committed to her Christian beliefs and prayed for the conversion of her family.
Monica is celebrated for her perseverance in prayer, particularly for her son Augustine, who initially led a wayward life. Her efforts eventually bore fruit when Augustine converted to Christianity and became a prominent theologian and bishop. She is honored as the patron saint of mothers and wives.
