Saint Lazarus
Saint Lazarus is a biblical figure known for his miraculous resurrection by Jesus Christ in the New Testament. He is often depicted as a symbol of hope and renewal, representing the belief in life after death. Lazarus lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha, and his story is primarily found in the Gospel of John.
In Christian tradition, Saint Lazarus is also recognized as a patron saint of the sick and the poor. His feast day is celebrated on December 17 in the Western Church and on the Saturday before Lazarus Saturday in the Eastern Orthodox Church. His legacy continues to inspire many in their faith and charitable works.
