Saint Lawrence of Brindisi
Saint Lawrence of Brindisi was a Capuchin friar and priest born in 1559 in Brindisi, Italy. He is known for his eloquent preaching and deep theological knowledge, which helped spread the Catholic faith during the Counter-Reformation. He played a significant role in the Thirty Years' War, serving as a diplomat and peacemaker.
He was canonized by Pope Leo XIII in 1881 and is recognized as a Doctor of the Church for his contributions to theology and spirituality. His feast day is celebrated on July 21, and he is the patron saint of Brindisi and the Capuchin order.
