Saint Kliment Ohridski
Saint Kliment Ohridski was a prominent 9th-century scholar and educator known for his role in the development of the Old Church Slavonic language. He was one of the disciples of Saints Cyril and Methodius, who created the Glagolitic alphabet. Kliment established one of the first Slavic schools in Ohrid, where he taught literacy and Christian teachings.
He is also recognized as the first bishop of Ohrid and contributed significantly to the spread of Christianity among the Slavic peoples. Saint Kliment Ohridski is venerated as a saint in both the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church, celebrated for his dedication to education and faith.
