Saint James the Less, also known as James the Just, was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. He is often identified as the son of Mary and Clopas, and is believed to have been a cousin of Jesus. James is recognized for his leadership in the early Christian community in Jerusalem and is traditionally credited with authorship of the Epistle of James in the New Testament.
James the Less is often depicted as a humble figure, known for his piety and dedication to prayer. He is sometimes confused with James the Greater, another apostle. His feast day is celebrated on May 3rd in the Western Christian calendar, honoring his contributions to the early Church.
