Saint Francis of Paola

Francis was canonized by Pope Leo X in 1519, and his feast day is celebrated on April 2. He is often depicted with a staff and wearing a simple robe, symbolizing his ascetic lifestyle. Saint Francis of Paola is also recognized as the patron saint of sailors and mariners.
