Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini
Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini was an Italian-American nun and the founder of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Born on July 15, 1850, in Lodi, Italy, she dedicated her life to helping immigrants in the United States. She arrived in New York City in 1889 and established schools, orphanages, and hospitals to support the growing immigrant population.
Cabrini was canonized as a saint by Pope Pius XII in 1946, becoming the first American citizen to be declared a saint. Her feast day is celebrated on November 13, honoring her contributions to education and social services for those in need.
