Saint Elizabeth of Hungary
Saint Elizabeth of Hungary was a princess born in 1207, known for her deep compassion and dedication to helping the poor. She married Ludwig IV of Thuringia and became a mother, but her life was marked by tragedy when her husband died young. Despite her royal status, she chose to live simply and devoted herself to charitable works.
After her husband's death, Elizabeth founded a hospital in Marburg, Germany, where she cared for the sick and needy. She was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1235, celebrated for her selflessness and commitment to serving others.
