Saint Barbara
Saint Barbara is a Christian martyr and one of the most venerated saints in the Catholic Church. She is often associated with protection against lightning and sudden death. According to tradition, she was the daughter of a wealthy pagan who imprisoned her in a tower to prevent her from converting to Christianity. After her father discovered her faith, he sought to kill her, but she was miraculously saved.
Her feast day is celebrated on December 4th, and she is the patron saint of artillerymen, miners, and firefighters. Saint Barbara is commonly depicted in art holding a tower or a chalice, symbolizing her story and faith.
