Saint Antoninus of Florence
Saint Antoninus of Florence was a prominent 15th-century Italian Dominican friar and theologian. Born in 1389, he became the Archbishop of Florence in 1446 and was known for his efforts in reforming the clergy and promoting education. His writings, including the influential "Summa Theologica," addressed moral and ethical issues of the time.
He was canonized by Pope Leo XIII in 1893 and is celebrated for his dedication to social justice and pastoral care. Saint Antoninus is the patron saint of Florence and is often invoked for guidance in matters of conscience and moral dilemmas. His feast day is observed on May 10.
