SUMO
SUMO is a traditional Japanese sport that involves two wrestlers, known as rikishi, competing in a circular ring called a dohyo. The objective is to force the opponent out of the ring or to make any part of their body, other than the soles of their feet, touch the ground.
Each rikishi wears a mawashi, a belt-like garment, and follows strict rituals and customs. Matches are often preceded by ceremonial movements, emphasizing the sport's deep cultural significance in Japan. SUMO has a rich history and is governed by the Japan Sumo Association, which oversees tournaments and the training of wrestlers.
