SOHC
A SOHC, or Single Overhead Camshaft, is an engine design that features one camshaft located in the cylinder head. This camshaft controls the opening and closing of the engine's intake and exhaust valves. SOHC engines are typically simpler and lighter than their DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) counterparts, making them easier to manufacture and maintain.
SOHC engines are commonly found in smaller vehicles and some motorcycles, where efficiency and cost-effectiveness are prioritized. While they may not offer the same performance potential as DOHC designs, SOHC engines can still provide adequate power and fuel efficiency for everyday driving needs.
