SMS Karlsruhe
SMS Karlsruhe was a German light cruiser that served in the Imperial Navy during World War I. Launched in 1910, she was part of the Karlsruhe-class of cruisers, designed for reconnaissance and protecting trade routes. The ship was equipped with modern artillery and had a displacement of around 5,500 tons.
During her service, SMS Karlsruhe was involved in various naval operations, including the Battle of the Falkland Islands. However, she met her end in 1914 when she was sunk by an explosion, likely caused by a magazine detonation, while operating in the Caribbean.
