SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory
The SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is a research facility located in Menlo Park, California. It is operated by the U.S. Department of Energy and focuses on particle physics, photon science, and accelerator research. The laboratory is home to the Linac Coherent Light Source, which produces extremely bright X-ray pulses for studying materials at the atomic level.
SLAC was established in 1962 and has contributed significantly to our understanding of fundamental particles and forces. It has hosted numerous experiments and collaborations, including work on the Large Hadron Collider and research related to quantum mechanics and cosmology.
