SECI model
The SECI model is a framework for knowledge management developed by Ikujiro Nonaka and Hirotaka Takeuchi. It describes the process of converting tacit knowledge, which is personal and context-specific, into explicit knowledge that can be easily shared and utilized. The model consists of four key processes: Socialization, Externalization, Combination, and Internalization.
In the SECI model, Socialization involves sharing experiences and skills through direct interaction. Externalization captures tacit knowledge and articulates it into explicit forms, such as documents. Combination merges different pieces of explicit knowledge, while Internalization allows individuals to absorb and apply this knowledge, enhancing their own tacit understanding.
