SATA I
SATA I is the first generation of the Serial Advanced Technology Attachment interface, introduced in 2003. It was designed to connect storage devices like hard drives and solid-state drives to a computer's motherboard. SATA I supports a maximum data transfer rate of 1.5 Gbps, which is significantly faster than the older Parallel ATA (PATA) technology.
This interface uses a simpler, thinner cable compared to PATA, allowing for better airflow within computer cases. SATA I laid the groundwork for subsequent generations, such as SATA II and SATA III, which offer even higher speeds and improved features for modern storage solutions.
