Russo-Persian Wars
The Russo-Persian Wars were a series of conflicts between the Russian Empire and the Persian Empire (modern-day Iran) during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. These wars primarily stemmed from territorial disputes and the desire of both empires to expand their influence in the Caucasus region. The most significant wars occurred from 1804 to 1813 and again from 1826 to 1828.
The first war ended with the Treaty of Gulistan in 1813, which ceded significant territories to Russia. The second war concluded with the Treaty of Turkmenchay in 1828, further expanding Russian control. These conflicts marked a shift in power dynamics in the region and had lasting impacts on both nations.
