Russian Cosmonauts
Russian cosmonauts are astronauts from Russia who are trained to travel into space. The term "cosmonaut" comes from the Russian word "kosmonavt," which means "universe sailor." They undergo rigorous training in various fields, including science, engineering, and physical fitness, to prepare for missions aboard spacecraft like Soyuz and Progress.
Since the launch of Vostok 1 in 1961, which carried Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space, Russian cosmonauts have played a significant role in space exploration. They have participated in numerous missions to the International Space Station (ISS) and contributed to scientific research and international cooperation in space.
