Rupert Holmes
Rupert Holmes is an American singer-songwriter, playwright, and author, best known for his hit song "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)" released in 1979. Born on February 24, 1947, in Northwich, England, he moved to the United States as a child. Holmes has also written several successful musicals, including The Mystery of Edwin Drood, which won a Tony Award.
